My Story
Hi, I'm Nicole, and I’m here to support you throughout every step of your birth and postnatal journey.
My passion goes beyond helping you have a positive birth experience—I’m deeply committed to empowering you, giving you the tools and confidence to be heard, respected, and fully supported during one of the most transformative times in your life.

As a 90s kid who grew up on the girl power of the Spice Girls, Alanis Morissette, and No Doubt, empowering women has always been central to who I am. In my previous careers, I ran workshops to help build resilience and confidence in young people and colleagues. But after experiencing the incredible strength of my own birth journey, I knew that supporting women through birth was my true calling. I’ve seen firsthand how birth can be a moment of profound transformation. I’m here to help you embrace it with confidence and strength, giving you the tools and support you need to feel powerful and in control. Birth is a moment in time that can’t be repeated, and I’m here to help you make it one you’ll look back on with pride.

But my support doesn’t stop once your baby arrives. Even though I had a wonderfully positive birth, I struggled with postnatal depression after my first child. Despite having a strong support network, it was still a very challenging time for me. The second time around, I recognised the signs early on and was able to put strategies in place to support myself and my family. This personal experience drives my work as a postnatal doula. I want to be there for you, not just through birth, but in those precious, often overwhelming early days.

As your postnatal doula, you are my priority. Yes, I’ll help with your baby, but my main focus is making sure you feel supported, heard, and cared for. In our culture, we don’t do enough to “mother the mother”, but that’s exactly what I’m here to do for you.
Families who choose to work with me appreciate my evidence-based approach—grounded, practical, and embracing the spirit of girl power. Together, we’ll make sure you feel empowered, strong, and supported, through birth and beyond.

Let’s start this journey together. I’m here for you.

These sessions give us the opportunity to clarify and assign roles, ensuring that everyone is confident in what to expect. I’ll remain by your side until you’ve successfully fed your baby and feel comfortable, ensuring you’re ready for me to leave and allow you uninterrupted bonding time, unless you’d like me to stay longer.

Postnatal Doula Package
In many cultures around the world, there is a strong emphasis on “mothering the mother” during the postnatal period, where the community rallies around the new mother, providing her with the support she needs to rest and recover. In contrast, our culture often pressures new parents to bounce back quickly, creating unrealistic expectations and leaving little room for healing
As your postnatal doula, I offer compassionate emotional, practical, and physical support during the crucial weeks after your baby's arrival.

I’m available to visit you at home or in the hospital starting from the moment your little one arrives, if that’s what you need. My primary aim is to nurture you and your family, ensuring that your transition into parenthood is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
I want to help you feel cared for and comfortable, allowing you to focus on bonding with your baby and fully embracing this transformative time.
I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting, and I’m here to help you navigate this journey at your own pace. Rather than imposing my methods, I’ll offer encouragement, suggestions, and practical tips, creating a supportive environment that allows you to discover your unique parenting style without the weight of external pressures. My goal is to help you feel relaxed, confident, and empowered as you embrace your new role as a mother.

The specific assistance I provide will vary day by day, adapting to your family’s evolving needs in those early weeks. Here’s a general overview of what I can offer:

-
Creating a Safe Space: I’ll work to cultivate an emotionally secure environment where you, your partner, and your baby can thrive together.
-
Discussing Your Concerns: I’m here to listen to any doubts or questions you may have, guiding you toward finding your own answers and parenting style without being swayed by others’ methods or parenting books.
-
Nurturing and Caring: I’ll ensure you feel supported, giving you the time to rest, shower, or take a bath while I look after your baby.
-
Newborn Care Guidance: I’ll provide routine newborn care and offer advice on handling, bathing, burping, calming techniques, sleep patterns, and newborn development.
-
Feeding Support: Whether you choose to breastfeed or bottle-feed, I’m here to assist you with both.
-
Household Assistance: I can help with light household tasks, such as laundry (no ironing—I’m not great at that!), grocery shopping, and running other errands.
-
Accompanying You: I can join you for appointments or shopping trips with your baby.
-
Supporting Older Siblings: I can assist with engaging with older siblings and helping them with the transition into siblinghood
-
Holiday Support: If needed, I’m available to help your family during seasonal holidays.

Introductory Meeting – Typically via Zoom (In-person available)

This is a complimentary, no-obligation meeting for us to connect and see if we’re a good fit. It’s an opportunity for you to assess our compatibility and ensure my approach aligns with your needs. I’ll share my journey and what motivated me to become a postnatal doula, as well as the specific support I offer. Every doula has a unique style, so this is your chance to learn how I can assist you during this important time. I’ll also provide a detailed overview of what my postnatal support package entails.
